Is it dishwasher safe?
No. The wooden handle will swell and crack in a dishwasher. Rinse under running water, wipe dry, done — takes ten seconds.
Will the wood handle crack or split over time?
Wood needs drying after washing. Leave it soaking in a sink and it will eventually swell. Wipe it dry and it lasts for years. If it ever feels dry, a drop of any cooking oil rubbed in restores it.
Will the blade rust?
The blade is stainless steel and resists rust with normal use. Leaving it wet in a drawer or sink is what causes surface spotting on any stainless tool — dry it and you'll never see it.
Does it work on hard skins — pumpkin, raw mango, ginger?
Yes on ginger, potato, carrot, cucumber, apple, raw mango. Hard-shell squash and pumpkin are a knife job, not a peeler job — that's true of every peeler.
